April 9th – Thomas’s first scan to check to make sure that no tumors are growing and blood work to make sure that his AFP level is ok. For his ultrasound he has to fast for three hours! I was so nervous that he was going to be so sad that he couldn’t eat. Not only did he not care that he hadn’t eaten. He was a rock star for the blood draw. He made the smallest amount of noise when she put the rubber band on his arm and that was it! My boy is a ROCK STAR!! – AFP level – 780
We got the results back and they did find a small cyst. They say that it is very tiny and appears to be benign so that is good. We do have to go back in a month and have it re-checked. They also found an issue with his kidney. I don’t really understand it. They called it a mild case of pelviectasis. So we have to meet with a Urologist on the 14th of May.
*Thomas ended up having an MRI done in May. The cyst that they saw was actually part of his spleen. So everything was ok.
